ABOUT

The event was geared toward game developers of all ages and skill levels. Within 48 hours, they had to design a game on a given topic. The topic of the Game Jam was major environmental and sustainability concerns. This allowed the participants to add a commentary on a problem that is quite current and impacts us all through their work. As the Game Jam was held in Poland during the Game Industry Conference (GIC), this created a great opportunity for Swiss and Polish Developers to collaborate.

In the context of the 100 year anniversary of the Swiss Embassy in Poland (1921-2021), several different projects have been developed, including an art installation with balloons and the Game Jam. The idea for the Game Jam came from Moritz (Blindflug) and Pablo Padrutt, Head of the Economic, Innovation and Technology Section at the Swiss Embassy in Poland. Taking into account that Pro Helvetia was going to set up a Swiss developer delegation to participate in GIC and that Blindflug was thinking of doing a "team outing", the Game Jam became an interesting element for everyone. The Game Jam was sponsored by the Embassy who provided accommodation and transport, in addition to financial participation and prizes from our sponsors Tissot & Logitech. The organisation of the event was carried out in collaboration with the GIC organisers.
